Paradise Elegance Cruise

Paradise Elegance is a 31-cabin steel boat that has worked Ha Long Bay out of Tuan Chau since 2017, and the owner puts a private balcony on its cheapest cabin. On the originvietnam.com high-season sheet read on 28 October 2026 that cabin cost $395 for one night, which is from $198 per person, two sharing.

What are you booking on Paradise Elegance?

A steel boat with a full programme. The 31 cabins come in four classes on four guest decks, and the owner gives the boat as 61 metres long, taking up to 62 adults. Paradise Vietnam runs two identical Paradise Elegance hulls, so the boat in a photograph may be her twin. Launched in 2017, it is about nine years old (how old is your boat); our wooden hull or steel page explains what steel changes.

The owner names the rooms. Le Marin is the restaurant. Le Piano Lounge is the bar, the sundeck has a jacuzzi, and there is a spa on board. The owner rates that sundeck for events of up to 60 people across 360 m².

The detail we like best comes from the owner’s own blog post from March 2023: guests wait in a lounge on Tuan Chau with tea and juice until about 12:15, when an electric vehicle drives them down to the marina. Luggage goes ahead and is waiting outside the cabin door.

Will the stops feel crowded?

Probably, yes. Paradise Elegance sails the Ha Long Bay loop out of Tuan Chau, and two guests write that the excursions felt rushed and busy. A French guest in December 2025 could not land on one islet because of the crush of boats. A four-star reviewer in April 2026 liked the boat but found the excursions short and overcrowded, with little time to take anything in. Another French guest found the organised Titop Island excursion of no interest, and a Vietnamese guest felt the boat never left a small corner of the bay.

How does the overnight run, hour by hour?

On the owner’s timetable, read on 14 October 2026, a day on Paradise Elegance runs like this:

• 12:00 to 12:15 Check-in on Tuan Chau Island, a welcome drink, then the electric car down to the marina.
• 12:30 Briefing on board, and lunch at Le Marin at 13:00 as the boat leaves.
• 14:30 Titop Island for the climb or the beach.
• 15:45 Luon Cave by bamboo sampan, or by kayak if you pay for one.
• Early evening Happy hour with two-for-one drinks, a cooking class, live music by a Filipino band.
• 19:00 Dinner, then the piano bar, a film, or squid fishing.
• Day 2, sunrise Tai chi on the sundeck and breakfast.
• 07:45 Sung Sot Cave.
• 09:40 to 10:15 Bills and keys, over a brunch while the boat sails back past Thien Cung Cave and the Fighting Cock islets.
• 10:15 to 10:30 Off at Tuan Chau Marina.

A Spanish guest in February 2026 describes the same order, boarding at about 12:30 with Titop first and Luon in mid-afternoon. Weather can shuffle the order, so take the times as a guide.

The pace is the trade-off. One guest in April 2026 enjoyed the variety but felt the schedule was too full to leave time for rest.

The two-night trip adds a day on the owner’s day boat, Paradise Explorer. It leaves at 09:00, passes the caves at Dong Tien, Trong and Trinh Nu, stops at Tien Ong Cave at 11:00, serves lunch, and spends the afternoon at the floating village of Cua Van, by bamboo boat or a paid kayak, before you rejoin Paradise Elegance at 15:30. Which cabin should you book, and what does it cost?

The Deluxe Balcony is the cheapest way on, at $395 a night for two on the originvietnam.com high-season sheet read on 28 October 2026. Here are all four classes, priced for a cabin holding two adults; cabin counts and decks are from the owner’s deck plan:

The Executive is the Deluxe moved up a deck for the view. The Captain’s View suite is sold on wraparound glass and a 180-degree outlook from the bow. With two of each, if you want a suite, book early. The two sellers differ even on the same day: on 6 August originvietnam had the Deluxe at $365 against halongbaytours’ $320, and its high-season sheet on 14 October had it at $395. A Spanish guest upgraded to the Elegance Balcony Suite loved its corner balcony.

A second night barely saves anything. On the August halongbaytours sheet two nights in the Deluxe Balcony cost $630 against $320 for one, so the extra night costs $310, 97% of the first. Our page on two days or three explains when that is worth it.

The owner’s 2025 price list lets a first child under five travel free, and charges 3,150,000 VND a night for a child from five to eleven sharing the parents’ bed.

What is included, and what costs extra?

Meals on the programme, two bottles of water a day, entrance fees, tai chi, the cooking demonstration, insurance, tax and service are included, says the owner. Drinks, the Le Parfum spa, tips and the road from Hanoi are extra. On the one-night trip so is the kayak: a Vietnamese guest in June 2025 paid 300,000 VND to kayak at Luon Cave. On the two-night trip the first day’s kayak is included. Halongbaytours adds a $50 per person per night surcharge on 24 and 31 December.

The owner runs daily limousines from Hanoi’s Old Quarter, collecting between 08:45 and 09:15, about two and a half hours with a stop at Hai Duong; originvietnam lists the round trip at $42 a guest. Wi-Fi reaches the restaurant and bar only, the owner says, and one guest in October 2025 confirms it did not reach the cabins. What do guests say about the food?

Mostly warm, and specific about diets. One guest called the Indian food the best they had eaten in years. Another found Jain food on offer and was helped to cook Maggi noodles on board, and a January 2026 guest who eats no pork or beef had every dish explained by the waiting staff. The four-star guest from April 2026 found few vegetarian dishes, though there was fish. A December 2024 guest rated dinner good and lunch and breakfast average.

Two Paradise Vietnam guests in June and August 2025 describe long waits at the company’s Tuan Chau terminal, one of them about five hours before being told the boat would not sail because of the weather. The owner’s terms explain the wait: the port authority decides by 15:00 on the day. If you cancel before it decides, you get nothing back. If you wait, have lunch and the sailing is cancelled, you pay $25 for the lunch and get the rest back. A day trip in place of the overnight costs $95. Booking one to six cabins, you can cancel free more than seven days out; from seven to three days you lose half, and inside 72 hours the full fare. Who will like Paradise Elegance?

Couples who want a balcony and live music after dinner, from $198 each, two sharing (high-season rate read 28 October 2026). Families with a child under five travel with that child free. Anyone with Indian or Jain dietary needs will find guests who were looked after well.

Who should look elsewhere?

Travellers who want space at the stops. The same busy programme that keeps couples entertained leaves no slack, and the caves are shared. Sunbathers should know that a Vietnamese guest found no loungers on the sundeck and little to do in the evening.
