The operator of Cozy Bay Grand prints its own price: $139 per person, two sharing, for one night on a 17-cabin boat, on its table read on 11 October 2026. For that you get the lookout on Titov, the kayak lagoon at Luon and the big chambers of Sung Sot, the three stops most first-time visitors come to Ha Long for.

The company, Cozy Bay Cruise, runs three day boats as well, and this is the only one it sells with cabins. This page is about the overnight boat alone.

What are you booking?

A steel boat of four decks, as the operator describes it, with 17 cabins and room for 34 to 36 guests: the ship’s own site gives both figures, the brand site 36. Cabins sit on the lower two decks, the restaurant and bar on the third, the sundeck on top. The operator calls it a 40-metre, four-star boat. Seventeen cabins puts it on our list of small boats.

The programme is the standard Ha Long loop, with no extra stop of its own. Kayaking at Luon Cave, the cave and island tickets, a spring-roll class, Tai Chi at dawn and squid fishing after dinner are all in the price, along with every meal from lunch on the first day to brunch on the second. There is a happy hour on the sundeck where the third drink is free, and the operator lists a spa with two treatment rooms, charged separately.

One small thing a guest liked in October 2026: the air conditioning in the cabin stayed on after the key card came out of the slot, which they were glad of in the heat.

What is the catch?

The one-night timetable is tight, and there is no lift. The same guest found the trip rushed: breakfast at about 6:30, out on the morning excursion by 7:30, and little time left to enjoy the boat itself. They also wrote that most of their group could not manage one of the stops because of the number of steps.

The operator’s accessibility page confirms it. To eat you climb to the third deck, and Tai Chi, sunset and squid fishing happen one deck higher. If stairs are a problem, ask for a first-deck cabin and ask whether meals can be brought to it; the operator says they can. For the road from Hanoi, see getting from Hanoi to Ha Long.

How rushed is the one night on Cozy Bay Grand?

Quite. You are on board from about noon until late morning the next day, 11:45 on the brand site’s timetable, read on 11 October 2026. The ship’s own site prints a shorter version: check-in at 11:30, all three stops (Sung Sot first) on the first afternoon, Tai Chi at 6:00 and off the boat at 9:30, with no morning excursion and no brunch. Ask which version your date runs. The brand site’s version:

Time Day 1
07:10–07:45 Bus pick-up at one of 12 meeting points around Hanoi’s Old Quarter (if you bought the transfer)
12:00–12:30 Lounge check-in at Tuan Chau, then up the gangway
13:00 Buffet lunch as the boat leaves the marina
14:30 Titov Island: climb to the lookout or swim from the beach
16:00 Luon Cave by kayak or by rowed bamboo boat
17:30 Sundeck happy hour; spring-roll class at 18:00
19:00 Dinner in the restaurant
20:30 Squid fishing, karaoke, board games and a fashion show in traditional dress
Time Day 2
06:15 Tai Chi on the sundeck
06:45 Light breakfast
07:40 Sung Sot Cave
09:00–09:30 Back on board, pack and check out
10:30 Brunch as the boat heads in
11:45 Off at Tuan Chau; the bus reaches Hanoi around 16:00

The October guest’s morning matches the brand-site order. The bus picks up from fixed meeting points, because the operator says buses over 16 seats are now kept out of the Old Quarter.

Which cabin should you book, and what does it cost?

The Deluxe Balcony, for most couples. On the ship site’s price page (read 11 October 2026, but marked Q2/2026, so it may be a season old), the rates are per person, two sharing, if you make your own way to Tuan Chau:

Cabin Count Deck Outside Per person Cabin for two
Deluxe Sea View 8 First Window $139 $278
Deluxe Balcony 7 Second Private balcony $150 $300
Premium Terrace 2 Second Terrace $165 $330

With the round-trip bus from Hanoi the three become $148, $165 and $180 a person. A single traveller pays $199 for the Sea View cabin without the bus. The brand site, read the same day, still started at $139 but showed the Deluxe Balcony from $169 a person.

Ask for the cabin size in writing: the operator’s two sites and an agency disagree, by as much as 14 m² for the same class. The first-deck Sea View cabins have a fixed window, and the operator offers king or twin beds there on request. Our guide to what your cabin gets you shows what a balcony adds across the fleet.

What is included, and what is not?

The brand site lists two buffet lunches (one is the second-day brunch), a dinner and a breakfast, cave and island tickets, kayaks, the cooking class, Tai Chi, an English-speaking guide, insurance and taxes. It includes the rowed bamboo boat at Luon as well; the ship’s site charges $5 to $8 a person for it. The round-trip bus is included only if you book the Hanoi option.

Drinks are extra. The operator’s own bar list puts local beer at $3 to $4 and cocktails at $8 to $12. Tips, spa treatments and holiday surcharges are extra too: 400,000 VND a person on 24 and 31 December, 300,000 at Lunar New Year, and 200,000 on the 2 September, 30 April and 1 May holidays. Children go free under four on the ship’s site (one per cabin) and under five on the brand site. The operator says cancellation is free 10 or more days before departure; get that in writing. More on hidden costs in what is not included.

Who is Cozy Bay Grand right for?

Couples and friends on a first visit who want Titov, Luon and Sung Sot in one night, on a smaller boat, and like to see a price before they write to anyone. The second-deck balcony cabins, $11 a person above the Sea View cabins on the ship site’s table, are the reason to pick this boat. It sits in our best-value list.

Who will find Cozy Bay Grand the wrong boat?

Anyone who climbs stairs with difficulty: there is no lift, and meals are on the third deck. Anyone who wants a quiet morning on deck: on the brand site’s timetable the cave visit fills it. Anyone who wants the cabin size pinned down before paying, since the published price comes without one the operator agrees on. And anyone hoping for a second night: the operator sells this boat as a two-day trip only, and the guest who found it rushed said they would choose a two-night cruise next time. Our guide to two days or three weighs that choice.

What does not add up on the operator’s sites?

Quite a lot: the operator runs two websites for this boat, and they disagree. The ship’s site says 25, 28 and 32 m² for the three cabin classes; the brand site says about 18 and 22 m² for the first two; an agency page says 15, 15 and 18 m². Beyond the sizes, the meal times and the order of the stops, the ship’s site says the boat was launched in 2025 and that the brand dates from 2018, while an agency page gives 2018 as the launch year; nobody publishes a build record we could check. The operator also writes that two smaller wooden boats, Cozy Bay Classic and Cozy Bay Boutique, came before this one, so older reviews of a wooden “Cozy Bay” junk are not about this boat. The ship’s site is written in the voice of a cruise manager telling his own story, which we cannot verify either.

The big Tripadvisor listing under the Cozy Bay name is built around the day boats: its photos show the Cozy Bay Premium, so we take nothing from it. The Google listing that names this boat links to a booking page for the overnight trip but places it in Lan Ha Bay; the operator’s route is in Ha Long Bay. It held four reviews when we read it, only one with any text, which is too few to summarise.

Why people book Cozy Bay Grand

Book it if

  • You want the three classic Ha Long stops in one night at a published price: from $139 per person, two sharing, on the operator's own table read on 11 October 2026
  • A private balcony matters and the budget is tight; on that same table the Deluxe Balcony is $11 a person more than the Deluxe Sea View
  • Seventeen cabins is the size of boat you like, with a sundeck on top and the restaurant one deck below it

Our read

Cozy Bay Grand is the one overnight boat of a company whose other three boats run day trips. It sells Titov, Luon Cave and Sung Sot on a 17-cabin boat at a price the operator prints itself. The trade is a tight one-night timetable and an operator whose two websites disagree on cabin sizes and even the order of the stops. Book the balcony, and ask for the cabin size and the day-two timetable in writing.

Good to know

Who should look at something else
  • You want a slow morning; one guest wrote that breakfast is at about 6:30 and the morning excursion leaves an hour later
  • Stairs are hard for you; the operator says there is no lift and that meals are served on the third deck
  • You need to know the cabin size before you book; the operator's two websites and one agency give different sizes, up to three for one class
What to ask before you pay
7
7 questions, each one tied to something this boat does not publish. Almost none of the cruise pages we surveyed tells you what to ask. Take this list to whoever quotes you.

The moneyWhere the spread hides

What is the single-occupancy supplement?
Not published by any source we read. Common on this coast and often +50% or more.
Child and infant rates?
Not published for this boat by any source we read — the child tables we found are the sellers’ own, identical across every boat they list. Ask for the age bands, not just the discount.

The logisticsThe mistakes that cost a morning

Confirm it is Tuan Chau Marina.
The piers serving these bays are roughly twenty minutes apart and drivers do occasionally go to the wrong one.
What time is check-in, and what time is cabin checkout?
No source we read publishes either for this boat. Confirm both when you book, especially if you have a flight on the last day.

If it goes wrongNobody publishes this — get it in writing

What happens if the port closes for weather?
The provincial authority closes the port and every boat stays in. No source publishes this operator’s policy. Ask whether it is a refund or a date change, in writing.
Which cancellation ladder applies to your booking, and what deposit?
We found 7 different ladders across our sources for boats on this coast — free cancellation ends anywhere from 15 to 30 days out. It depends on who you book through, not on this boat. Get yours in writing before the deposit.
Is a cave closure refunded or substituted?
Caves close at short notice here. Substitution is normal; a refund is not. Worth knowing which you are agreeing to.
We do not host guest reviews yet, and we will not reprint a score we cannot audit. This list is what we would want in their place — take it to whoever quotes you, us included.
Boarding times and the cancellation ladder

The boat's own timings

No source we read publishes check-in or checkout times for Cozy Bay Grand Cruise. Ask when you book — on this coast checkout is usually between 09:30 and 11:00, and the difference decides whether you get a last morning on the water.

Cancellation — not a property of this boat

We checked every cancellation ladder in our sources. They differ by who you book through, not by which boat you sail: the same boat carries different terms on different listings. So we will not print one and call it Cozy Bay Grand Cruise's policy.

Across the 7 distinct ladders we found, free cancellation ends somewhere between 15 and 30 days before check-in. After that the fee climbs to 100%.

When was Cozy Bay Grand Cruise launched?

cozybaygrand.com (crawl 2026-10-11) "4★ (launched 2025)" and "brand since Oct 2018"; besthalongcruises "Launched in 2018". Cozy Vietnam Travel says it began in 2012. We show the most widely reported figure and recommend confirming it with the operator before you pay.

How many guests does Cozy Bay Grand Cruise take?

The operator gives two figures. cozybaygrand.com (crawl 2026-10-11) says 34 guests on most pages and 36 on others; cozybaycruise.com/cozy-bay-grand-cruise (crawl 2026-10-11) "max 36 guests". We show the most widely reported figure and recommend confirming it with the operator before you pay.

Which pier does Cozy Bay Grand Cruise leave from?

Tuan Chau Marina. The piers serving these bays are roughly twenty minutes apart and drivers do occasionally go to the wrong one, so name it when you arrange your own transfer.
