Amour Cruise sells one idea hard: a bath you can lie in while looking at Lan Ha Bay. The owner says every cabin on the boat, from the 28 m² doubles to the 60 m² family suite, has an ocean-view bathtub and its own balcony or terrace. If that is what you are picturing for a night on the water, this 22-cabin boat out of Tuan Chau is built around it.

What are you booking on Amour Cruise?

You are booking a 22-cabin boat that leaves from Lot 39 at Tuan Chau International Marina and spends its first afternoon at Tra Bau, inside Lan Ha Bay.

On board, the owner’s site lists a spa, a fitness room with treadmills and exercise bikes, a jacuzzi that the itinerary places on the prow of the fourth floor, a sundeck with a skybar, and a restaurant with floor-to-ceiling glass. Boarding at both ends is by tender, a step down into a small boat; worth knowing if anyone in your party is unsteady on steps.

Watch the name when you book. Amour Cruise is a different vessel from L’Amour Cruise and from L’Amour Junk, and at least one reseller record we read mixes them up. The company named in the footer of amourcruises.com is HTC Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited, with an address in Cat Hai, Hai Phong.

How much does Amour Cruise cost?

From $143 per person, two sharing, for one night: half of the $285 Junior Suite rate on halongbaytours.com, read on 6 August 2026. The owner publishes no prices at all, so these are one reseller’s figures, and the listing gives them as its maximum rate per cabin.

Cabin (reseller’s name) One night, per cabin Two nights, per cabin, whole trip
Junior Suite $285 $550
Senior Suite $300 $590
Executive Suite $400 $790
Honeymoon Suite $450 $890

The reseller prices no triple or family cabin. Ask for those by name and date, and ask whether the Hanoi transfer is in the figure, because the owner’s timetable treats the shuttle as something you book separately. Our cost guide shows what boats publish per person, band by band, so that you can judge a quote.

Which cabin should you ask for?

Sizes, beds and floors below come from the owner’s cabin pages (read 10 October 2026); one reseller agrees on the 28 and 45 m² sizes but lists the Honeymoon at 48 m².

Class Size Bed Where on the boat
Junior/Senior Double Suite 28 m² double, 1.8 m Junior on floor 1, Senior on floor 2
Junior/Senior Twin Suite 28 m² two singles, 1 m each Junior on floor 1, Senior on floor 2
Junior/Senior Triple Suite 35 m² queen 1.6 m plus a single Junior on floor 1, Senior on floor 2; terrace
Executive Suite 45 m² king, 2 × 2 m floor 2, stern; terrace
Honeymoon Suite 45 m² (owner; one reseller says 48) super king, 2 × 2 m floor 2, bow; terrace
Family Connecting Suite 60 m² queen 1.8 m plus two singles 1.1 m floor 1; two rooms, two bathtubs

The owner’s triple page admits that the Double and Twin balconies are small next to the terraces on the other classes. The Family suite sleeps up to four adults plus one child under 12, according to the owner.

Will you get the cabin you booked? Guests writing in English have said the room they were given did not match what they booked; one still called it a great room. The owner’s policy offers an equivalent cabin or a free upgrade if your booked one cannot be served, and says a room change only takes effect once it is confirmed in writing or by email. Get that confirmation.

What happens on the one-night trip, hour by hour?

The owner’s timetable for the two-day, one-night programme runs as follows (read 10 October 2026):

  • 08:00–08:30 pick-up in the Hanoi Old Quarter, only if you booked the shuttle
  • 12:00–12:15 arrival at Lot 39, Tuan Chau; tender to the boat by 13:15
  • 13:30 lunch while the boat passes Thumb Islet, Con Vit and Gia Luan harbour
  • 15:30–17:00 kayaking and a swim at Tra Bau, or the jacuzzi if you stay aboard
  • 17:30 sunset gathering with fruit and cake, then a spring-roll class at 18:00
  • 19:15 dinner; squid fishing, music and board games from 21:00
  • 06:00 tai chi on the sundeck, light breakfast at 07:15
  • 08:00 Dark & Light Cave by rowed bamboo boat
  • 09:30–10:15 check-out and settling the bill; brunch at 10:30
  • 11:30 tender back to the pier; the shuttle reaches Hanoi between 14:00 and 15:30

The second morning is short. You are back from the cave and packing within ninety minutes of the 08:00 departure.

Is the second night worth it on Amour Cruise?

On this boat, yes, if Lan Ha is the point of your trip. The one-night programme never reaches Viet Hai or Ba Trai Dao, even though both are on the owner’s three-day route. On the three-day programme the middle day moves you onto a day boat at 08:45 towards Cat Ba National Park. You reach Viet Hai village at 10:30, where the owner offers a bicycle or an electric car, then kayak and swim around Ba Trai Dao between 13:00 and 15:00 before rejoining the main boat for a second sunset and dinner. On the reseller’s August rates the extra night in a Junior Suite adds $265 to the $285 one-night fare. Our two-days-or-three guide sets out the general trade-off.

What is included, and what costs extra?

The owner lists the cabin, all meals, a welcome drink, kayaking, tai chi, the cooking class, the cave visit and service taxes as included. The Hanoi shuttle is offered “for guests booking our transfer service”, so treat it as separate until your quote says otherwise. Bar drinks are not in the owner’s inclusion list, check-out includes settling a bill, and the reseller listing names restaurant drinks, the minibar and the Hanoi limousine as exclusions. The spa is unclear: its gallery page says included, while the three-day timetable says you “book a professional massage service”. The owner suggests tipping 10,000 to 50,000 VND per service. Our guide to what is not included lists the usual extras.

Children sharing a bed with parents travel free under 5, at 50% aged 5 to 7 and at 75% aged 8 to 11.

What do guests write about?

Guests mostly write about the crew, and by name. Servers and hosts are thanked individually, and vegetarian travellers describe staff steering them through the menu or arranging separate meals for them. One guest found the food leaned towards European dishes, while another credits the staff with helping on the kayaking, swimming and squid fishing.

Who it suits

Couples who want the bathtub-and-balcony night, and families who need two rooms that connect, fit Amour Cruise well. The Family Connecting Suite is on the first floor, which the owner pitches as fewer stairs for small children. Travellers with two nights to spend get far more of Lan Ha Bay’s cruise programmes than the one-night version gives.

Who should look elsewhere

If you need a current published price to shortlist, Amour Cruise only has a reseller’s August figures and no rate for its triple or family cabins. With only one night and Viet Hai on your list, pick a boat whose overnight programme goes there, because this one keeps the village for the longer trip.

What nobody publishes about Amour Cruise

Nobody publishes the boat’s length, passenger capacity or deck count, though the jacuzzi on the “4th-floor prow” means at least four floors. A reseller lists the hull as steel; the owner does not say. Resellers disagree on its age: originvietnam.com says built 2019, and halongbaytours.com says built 2020 and launched 2022. The owner gives no year, so read our note on how old a boat is before relying on any of them. The owner’s itinerary pages promise a super king bed in each cabin, which its own Double and Twin pages contradict. A child aged exactly 11 falls into both the 75% and full-price bands. And the owner’s site gives three free-cancellation cut-offs: 10 days on its policy page, 7 days on its cabin and itinerary pages, and 3 days on its booking page. Ask which applies, in writing, and read our cancellation guide first.

Why people book Amour

Book it if

  • You want a bathtub by the window in the smallest cabin too: the owner says all six cabin classes have one, plus a balcony or terrace
  • You are a family of four or five: the 60 m² Family Connecting Suite is two rooms with a door between them and a bathtub in each
  • You can give it two nights, because only the longer programme reaches Viet Hai and Ba Trai Dao

Good to know

Who should look at something else
  • You need a current price before you shortlist. The owner publishes none; the only cabin rates we hold are one reseller's, read on 6 August 2026
  • A specific cabin class matters to you and you will not get it confirmed in writing. Guests writing in English have said the room they were given did not match what they booked
  • You want a boat whose age is on record. Resellers give 2019, 2020 and 2022; the owner states no year
What to ask before you pay
9
9 questions, each one tied to something this boat does not publish. Almost none of the cruise pages we surveyed tells you what to ask. Take this list to whoever quotes you.

The moneyWhere the spread hides

How much is the Hanoi transfer, and is it shared or private?
Our sources agree it is not in the fare, but none of them publishes the price. Ask for both options — the gap between a seat on a shared van and a private car is usually the biggest single add-on.
What is the single-occupancy supplement?
Not published by any source we read. Common on this coast and often +50% or more.
Child and infant rates?
Not published for this boat by any source we read — the child tables we found are the sellers’ own, identical across every boat they list. Ask for the age bands, not just the discount.

The logisticsThe mistakes that cost a morning

Confirm it is Tuan Chau Marina.
The piers serving these bays are roughly twenty minutes apart and drivers do occasionally go to the wrong one.
What time is check-in, and what time is cabin checkout?
No source we read publishes either for this boat. Confirm both when you book, especially if you have a flight on the last day.
Which stops does the 3 days · 2 nights add?
The route list we publish is the union across itineraries; no source says which legs the longer trip reaches. This is usually the reason to take it.

If it goes wrongNobody publishes this — get it in writing

What happens if the port closes for weather?
The provincial authority closes the port and every boat stays in. No source publishes this operator’s policy. Ask whether it is a refund or a date change, in writing.
Which cancellation ladder applies to your booking, and what deposit?
We found 7 different ladders across our sources for boats on this coast — free cancellation ends anywhere from 15 to 30 days out. It depends on who you book through, not on this boat. Get yours in writing before the deposit.
Is a cave closure refunded or substituted?
Caves close at short notice here. Substitution is normal; a refund is not. Worth knowing which you are agreeing to.
We do not host guest reviews yet, and we will not reprint a score we cannot audit. This list is what we would want in their place — take it to whoever quotes you, us included.
Boarding times and the cancellation ladder

The boat's own timings

No source we read publishes check-in or checkout times for Amour Cruise. Ask when you book — on this coast checkout is usually between 09:30 and 11:00, and the difference decides whether you get a last morning on the water.

Cancellation — not a property of this boat

We checked every cancellation ladder in our sources. They differ by who you book through, not by which boat you sail: the same boat carries different terms on different listings. So we will not print one and call it Amour Cruise's policy.

Across the 7 distinct ladders we found, free cancellation ends somewhere between 15 and 30 days before check-in. After that the fee climbs to 100%.

When was Amour Cruise launched?

Three years. originvietnam.com/cruises/amour-cruise says "Build: 2019"; halongbaycruises.com/cruise/dora-cruise.html says "Launched: 2019" in its header but "Launched in early 2020" in its text; halongbaytours.com/cruise/dora-cruise.html says "Built: 2020" in its header but "Launched in 2022" in its text (all read 2026-08-06). The owner site gives no launch year. We show the most widely reported figure and recommend confirming it with the operator before you pay.

Which pier does Amour Cruise leave from?

Tuan Chau Marina. The piers serving these bays are roughly twenty minutes apart and drivers do occasionally go to the wrong one, so name it when you arrange your own transfer.

What do you not know about this boat?

No source we checked publishes: capacity, decks, length m. A further 6 figures rest on a single source. We would rather say that than fill the gap with a guess. If the operator sends us the figures we will publish them and date them.
