Details →Bhaya Classic is the wooden boat Bhaya Cruises sells on price and tradition: 20 cabins and a crew of 25 by the operator’s count, and one night in Ha Long Bay with an afternoon at Trinh Nu and a morning at either Sung Sot Cave or Titov Island. On 28 October 2026 one booking site listed its smallest cabin at $240 for two, which is $120 per person.
The company says it has been cruising for 19 years. Bhaya Classic is its traditional wooden boat; The Au Co and Bhaya Soul, its steel ships, have their own pages here.
A small wood-floored cabin, three meals and a full first-timer’s programme. In the Deluxe class the operator describes polished hardwood floors, a large window, air conditioning and a walk-in shower. Wi-Fi is listed for the common areas. The operator’s gallery shows four decks (main, upper, a terrace deck and a sundeck with loungers) and a restaurant it styles as a Vietnamese bistro.
On board there is a spring-roll cooking demonstration, a happy hour at reduced bar prices, a rice-wine tasting, squid fishing after dinner and Tai Chi at sunrise. The operator’s package page lists lunch, dinner and breakfast, a welcome drink, the excursions, kayaks, entrance fees, onboard insurance, taxes and service. Twenty cabins puts Bhaya Classic on our small boats list, and the price puts it among our best-value cruises.
Small: 12.5 to 13 m² for the Deluxe on the operator’s figures, with one double or two single beds. Some Deluxe cabins have a balcony, which the operator describes as “selected”. The Terrace Suite on the upper deck is 16.5 to 17 m², with a king bed, a bathtub as well as a shower, and a private terrace with sun loungers.
If you are three adults, plan on two cabins. Answering guests in 2024 and again in 2025, one booking site said Bhaya Classic does not put three adults in one cabin. Our guide to what your cabin gets you shows what a few extra square metres buy on other boats.
You board at noon at Bhaya’s own terminal, the Bhaya Halong Cruise Center at No 9 Ngoc Chau harbour on Tuan Chau, kayak or swim at Trinh Nu in the afternoon, and leave the boat at 10:00 the next morning after Tai Chi and one excursion. The operator publishes the outline with a few fixed times:
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| 08:00–08:30 | Bus pick-up in Hanoi, if you booked it; about 2.5 hours to the bay |
| 12:00 | Boarding |
| Afternoon | Trinh Nu area: kayak, or the beach behind Trinh Nu Cave; cooking demonstration |
| Evening | Happy hour, dinner, squid fishing |
| Early morning | Tai Chi on the sundeck |
| Morning | Choose one: Sung Sot Cave, or swimming and the summit path at Titov Island |
| 10:00 | Check out and leave the boat |
| 13:30–14:30 | Back in central Hanoi or at the airport, depending on traffic |
The operator calls Trinh Nu a quieter corner of the bay and Sung Sot the largest cave in it; our Sung Sot guide explains what the climb involves. If you want to board on the day you land at Noi Bai, the operator says your flight should be down by 6:00 or 7:00. You are off the boat by 10:00; see two days or three if one short night feels too little.
From $120 per person, two sharing, on the booking-site listing “Bhaya Cruises” read on 28 October 2026: half its $240 Deluxe cabin price. The Terrace Suite was $350 there. A second booking site, read on 6 August 2026, showed $274 and $401 for the same two classes in low season. Ask the operator for a written quote with the cabin class named. Book direct on Bhaya’s own site and the shared limousine from the Hanoi Old Quarter is in the fare; through a booking site it may be extra, and halongbaytours.com charged $30 an adult for the round trip in August 2026. Our page on what a Ha Long cruise costs puts these figures in context.
Drinks and personal spending are extra on the operator’s list. Our guide to what is not included covers the usual extras.
Bhaya’s booking conditions, which apply to all its boats unless your rate says otherwise, let you cancel free more than 28 days out. For one to four cabin-nights you then pay 30%, from 14 days 60%, and inside eight days the full fare; changing the date is free more than 21 days ahead. Non-refundable promotional rates override all of this. If weather stops a sailing before it leaves, Bhaya offers the nearest alternative and settles the difference either way.
First-time visitors on a budget who want a straightforward night with an established company, and who will spend most of it on deck or in a kayak. Couples who can stretch to the Terrace Suite get a private terrace with loungers and a bathtub.
Anyone who wants a long morning on the water: you board at noon and leave at 10:00 after one excursion. Anyone who wants both Sung Sot and Titov on one trip, or room to spread out in the cabin, will not get those either.
One of several. The operator writes about Bhaya Classic’s wooden boats in the plural, with 20 cabins over four decks and a crew of 25 on the operator’s figures, so ask which boat you are booked on and when it was last refitted. A different, smaller boat sold as “Bhaya Classic Premium” is not this one. Nor is Bhaya Legend, a line of one- to five-cabin boats the operator sells mostly as private charters but also on a shared two-day trip over a similar route; check that your quote names Bhaya Classic.
The cabins, decks, crew, programme, pier, times, transfer and terms are from bhayacruises.com, its FAQ and its booking conditions, read on 6 August 2026. Prices are from two booking sites read the same day, and the three-adult answer from one of them.
Chosen by price proximity within the same bay, computed from our dataset — not by commission. We add no booking fee to any of them.
Bhaya Classic is the wooden boat Bhaya Cruises pitches on price and tradition. It sells a short, standard Ha Long night with small cabins, from $120 a person on one booking site. The operator runs Bhaya Classic as a small fleet of wooden boats, so ask which one you are booked on and how recently it was refitted. Book direct and the bus from Hanoi is in the fare.
12.5 m², 1 double or 2 single, on the main deck and upper deck.
16.5 m², 1 double (king), on the upper deck.

Standard terms unless your rate plan says otherwise. Shared cruises, 1–4 cabin-nights: more than 28 days before departure: free. 28–15 days: 30% of the fare. 14–8 days: 60%. Less than 8 days: 100%. 5 or more cabin-nights: 50%, 80% and 100% over the same periods. Date changes are free more than 21 days ahead.
The operator may change or cancel a cruise for bad weather. If it is cancelled before departure, you are offered the nearest alternative, with a refund or top-up for the price difference. Refunds are limited to the amount actually paid, less services already used.
Included for bookings made on the operator's website: return shared limousine between the Hanoi Old Quarter and Ha Long, pick-up 08:00–08:30, about 2.5 hours. Private cars cost extra.
Per the operator's own terms on bhayacruises.com, read 6 Aug 2026. Rates, group sizes and booking channels can change the terms; your booking confirmation is what applies.
