Venus works the Cat Ba side of Lan Ha out of Tuan Chau, and the aerial photograph on the Venus site (venushalongcruises.com) shows a bow pool and a green water slide running off the upper deck. The Senior, Executive and Family suites each have a balcony and a jacuzzi. On the halongbaytours.com listing read on 6 August 2026, the cheapest suite for two was $300 for the night: from $150 per person, two sharing.

Agencies date her to 2023 and describe a steel boat sleeping 58 overnight; the deck plan on the Venus site shows five levels. The same site puts the pool on the upper deck, lists a gym, and lays out a rooftop deck of sunbeds and potted plants over artificial grass. If the slide is the reason your children agreed to this, check it is open on your date before you pay.

Which suite should you book?

The Senior Suite. On the Venus site’s current pages it is 45 m², and the Executive above it is 53 m². Have the square metres for your grade put on the quote. Prices are for one cabin, the highest rate the halongbaytours.com listing showed for each grade on 6 August 2026.

Suite Size One night, per cabin Two nights, per cabin for the whole trip
Senior Suite 45 m² $300 $580
Executive Suite 53 m² $320 $630
Premier Suite 55 m² $360 $710
Family Suite (three guests) 55 m² $500 $950

At the top sits a single Pearl Suite with a private terrace, priced on request. These are the highest rates the listing showed; a quote may come in lower.

Now divide by the guest cap. For one night the Senior Suite works out at $150 a head, the Executive at $160, the Premier at $180, and the Family Suite at $167. The family room costs $17 a head more than two people pay in the cheapest double, so the third bed here is not a discount. Under the Venus site’s terms one child under five shares a bed free, children from five to ten pay half without an extra bed, and an extra bed costs $30.

What does the fare include?

Full board, a welcome drink, entrance fees, an English-speaking guide, flowers and fruit in the cabin, swimming, kayaking, the cooking class and squid fishing; the top suites add wine. The spa, drinks beyond the welcome glass, VAT and tips are extra, and Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve carry a surcharge.

The road from Hanoi is extra too. The shared limousine sold on the Venus site costs $40 a seat for the round trip, collecting from the Old Quarter between 09:00 and 09:30, with one child under five free per booking; agencies sell their own shuttles for less. What is not included covers the usual extras.

Where does Venus go?

Into Lan Ha Bay. Be at the lounge at Tuan Chau International Port by 11:30; the tender runs out between noon and half past. The afternoon stop is Dark and Bright Cave, which you go through in a bamboo boat. On the last morning you kayak around the ship in the Tra Bau area from seven until a quarter to eight, then brunch, clear the cabin, and reach Tuan Chau at about a quarter past eleven. Say the name to your driver twice; the harbours here are easy to confuse.

The two-night trip spends its middle day on a shared day boat from 07:45 to 15:30: to Viet Hai village by bicycle or electric tram, a fish foot massage, lunch, and on some agencies’ programmes the beach at Ba Trai Dao. Two days or three weighs whether that day earns its money, and if you have not settled on a bay, the three are not the same trip.

Who it suits

Couples paying for the deck, the jacuzzi and a big room on the Cat Ba side, with a written quote against a named suite. Against the other boats this side its entry suite sits just under the $310 middle of the one-night rates we hold.

Who should look elsewhere

Parties of three looking for a cheaper third bed, and anyone who wants a slow morning. The best-value list has other Lan Ha boats at this money.

Where these facts come from

The pier, the times, both programmes, the suite sizes and counts, the facilities, the inclusions, the limousine fare and the child terms come from venushalongcruises.com, read on 10 August and 14 October 2026; halongbaytours.com, besthalongcruises.com and bestpricetravel.com name the same pier. The launch year, hull, decks and capacity are from agencies. Prices are from the halongbaytours.com listing read on 6 August 2026 and move with season, so confirm yours on the quote.
