Details →The entry-grade cabin on La Regina Legend is a 45 m² suite with its own balcony, and that is the case for her. She is a steel boat of 27 cabins on Lan Ha; you board at Tuan Chau Marina and spend the second morning on Cat Ba Island at Trung Trang Cave. That Princess Suite works out from $150 per person, two sharing, at the $299 a night originvietnam.com listed on 6 August 2026.
She came into service in August 2018. A Vietnamese business paper covered the launch that month and put her at nearly 70 metres, with a restaurant of a hundred seats. The operator, La Regina Cruises, describes four floors, a spa, a gym and an outdoor jacuzzi. Her sister La Regina Grand sails the same water with the same cabin plan.
The Princess Suite, unless you need more room. It is 45 m², with a bathtub, a minibar and the balcony, and the operator lists ten of them as Princess Suite Premium on the second and third floors at the same size. For three people there is the Queen Triple Suite at 54 m². At the top is the Queen Regent Suite of 135 m².
On the originvietnam.com rate sheet read on 6 August 2026, one night cost $299 for the Princess Suite, $444 for the Queen Triple and $485 for the Queen Regent, each priced for two adults. The two-night trip is priced for the whole stay: $590, $876 and $969. Halve the Princess Suite and two sharing pay $150 each for one night, or $295 each for two. The Regent’s premium over the Princess is $186 a night for three times the floor space.
The operator also mentions 22 “Queen Suites” of 45 m². Ask which grade name your quote uses and get the square metres beside it.
Into Lan Ha Bay. Lunch is at 13:00 as she leaves Tuan Chau. At 15:30 a local boat takes you into Dark and Bright Cave. The next morning, at 07:30, you go ashore at Gia Luan on Cat Ba Island, ride about half an hour to Trung Trang Cave inside the biosphere reserve, and are back aboard for an early lunch at 09:40 while she heads in. The speed boat lands you at Tuan Chau at 11:00.
Agencies selling the two-night trip put Viet Hai village and the beach at Ba Trai Dao (Three Peaches) on the middle day. The village is covered in our Viet Hai guide.
At Lot 24, Tuan Chau Marina, where La Regina has its welcome lounge. The operator asks you to be at the lounge by 11:30. The speed boat takes you out at 12:15. Give your driver the marina and the lot number, because the harbours here are easy to confuse.
The road from Hanoi is not in the fare. La Regina’s transfer pages, read on 10 August 2026, list a shared limousine at $18 a person each way from the Old Quarter and a private four-seat car at $95 each way.
Meals on the programme, the cave visits, entrance fees, a guide and the cooking demonstration, according to the operator and the agencies. Spa treatments, drinks and tips are extra. Cancellation terms are set by whoever sells you the cabin, so get them in writing; our cancellation guide explains what to ask for.
One thing to put in writing besides the price. Legend and La Regina Grand share a cabin plan and Lot 24, and one agency’s Legend itinerary sends you to Grand. Get the ship’s name printed on your confirmation and check that it says Legend.
Couples who want a big cabin and a balcony on the Cat Ba side for one night, at a price close to a standard cabin elsewhere. It is on the best-value list. See the Lan Ha boats for what else runs this side of the water, and settle the choice of bay before the choice of ship.
Anyone who wants a boat small enough to know everyone aboard by dinner. At close to 70 metres and 27 cabins, La Regina Legend is a big hotel boat, and the small-boat list has the alternatives.
